Climate change also poses special challenges for winter sports operations in Oberhof and in the sports and leisure facilities of the Thuringian Winter Sports Center. In preparation for the 2023 World Championships and with a view to a sustainable future, the facilities are being upgraded in terms of energy. The model project Climate Neutral Energy Supply of the Oberhof Winter Sports Facilities will ensure a sustainable and cost-efficient energy supply through environmentally friendly measures in heating, cooling and power supply. In combination with a year-round utilization of all facilities as well as the implementation of resource-saving events, Oberhof faces up to its sustainable responsibility in the heart of the Thuringian Forest.
